Tell State Lawmakers:
SEPTA Matters to Your Business
SEPTA does business with a wide range of vendors across our region and throughout the Commonwealth. If the current funding crisis is not addressed, most of this activity would drop significantly.
In just the first year alone, SEPTA would be forced to cut service by almost half — starting the irreversible process of dismantling the system. As rail cars, bus depots, and other critical infrastructure are mothballed, SEPTA’s need for materials, supplies, and construction services would shrink dramatically. Fewer service routes mean fewer business opportunities for contractors, vendors, and suppliers, like you, who support the system today.
Send the message to Governor Shapiro and your State Senator and State Representative. SEPTA needs a permanent funding solution before it’s too late.
We have met with legislators, and they want to hear from you – from businesses and employers – about why SEPTA matters:
- Does SEPTA help your company connect to workers, customers, or suppliers?
- Does SEPTA support jobs at your company? At other company locations in Pennsylvania?
- Do your employees and their families rely on SEPTA to get to work and school and events like Phillies games?
State lawmakers need to hear from you. Tell them your story. Let them know reliable, affordable SEPTA service matters to your business. Tell Harrisburg to pass the Governor’s transit funding plan.
- Call, email, and visit your legislators — tell them new transit funding is critical for your company, your employees, and Pennsylvania’s economy.
- Speak up at industry groups and Chambers of Commerce — ask them to advocate for transit funding too.
Governor Shapiro’s funding plan will help save SEPTA and transit systems across the state. If SEPTA stops, so does business. Help us keep Pennsylvania moving.
